Sorry for the delay

Hey guys, I havn't been doing much on my boat, I was on vacation, then I have been doing pretty much the same exact thing the entire time I have been back. I am working on finializing my hull, I was not happy with the sheer knuckle(as shown sort of well here) It was rounded before, and I didn't really like that, so I used Bondo to help build up the knuckle and sanded it to shape. It took a lot of work and everything however I am fairly happy with the result(it looks much better)

I have added primer to my ship to help me find any flaws in my boat, been fixing the flaws and re priming my ship. It is a long process but it is starting to pay off!

I think it is coming along GREAT and am starting to get happier with the result I have so far. When this is done, I will be painting my hull and starting to do the small construction of stuff(rails, gun lockers, ect).

One last thing:
Today, I wanted to see if itfloated... I was really wondering because my boat weighs about 4-5 pounds with nothing in it basically. So I put it in the water, and it floats! It barley sits under teh water, I thought it was sort of cool!

Running Hardware install

Between yesterday and today(july 29th and 30th) I installed the running hardware(the rudders, and the shafts) so the boat will be able to move. I didn't take a picture of the holes i had to make but they weren't that pretty... I used 5 min epoxy on the stuffing boxes to hold them in place and placed woodfiller around them.

Goals for the weekend:
-Sand the filler to the shape of the hull
-Re place glass resin on the hull(where the shafts were installed)

-Get primer on the hull/deck

-Build the big stuff off of the super structure

I was going to upload all the pictures however, I can only do one at a time, so from now on I will be posting pictures up here on a basis when ever I work on my ship. Let me know if you have any questions!

Uss Crockett

Hey guys, I figured I would start a blog for my ship(USS Crockett) that I am building. It is much easier to follow my progress than just posting pictures on facebook (which I will still do). I just started the blog today, I will catch it up later today and post new pictures of my ship. I was on vacation the last week and unable to work on it.
